On October 5th 2022, the faithful of Częstochowa and the surrounding area had the opportunity to listen to a lecture by Father Karl Stehlin. Father had visited Częstochowa many times, but, as he admitted, this was the first time he had given a lecture there at the initiative of the traditional faithful of Częstochowa. He stressed that Częstochowa is the heart of Catholic Poland, the most famous place for graces in our country, and for this reason he chose the topic: “The Immaculate, the last chance for salvation in the worst crisis of the Church” for his lecture.
Karl Stehlin began by presenting the external symptoms of the Church’s crisis, in order to highlight the purpose and meaning of man’s life in this world full of lies.
Later in the conference, he spoke about the role of the militant and triumphant Church, the remedies that Our Lord Jesus Christ has given to people to overcome all the difficulties in this, the worst crisis in the world. In spite of so many attacks, we have the grace to be able to discover the enemy. There is no longer a Christian atmosphere, the Catholic world order has disappeared, no one thinks of Our Lord Jesus Christ, there is a collapse of the Catholic strongholds. In the midst of this chaos, great saints like St. Louis-Marie Grignion de Montfort, St. Alphonsus-Marie de Liguori, St. Maximilian-Marie Kolbe, St. Thérèse de l’Enfant-Jésus, who have raised the banner of the Catholic faith, are emerging. Father Stehlin reminded us that “we are invited to enter the ranks of the militant Church, taking our place as knights of Christ and of the Immaculata.
It is the Blessed Mother who is our only hope of salvation. It is she who gives us the means to fight, enlightens our spirit, gives us consolation and helps us to keep the faith. “Poland is a beautiful and best example of how the Mother of God works in the history of our nation. Częstochowa – an outstanding proof of the incredible miraculous work of Our Lady, who needs no one to defeat the enemy of souls.” Our duty in these difficult times is therefore to expose the enemy, and the remedy is to return to Catholic Tradition. “Let us carry the banner of the Immaculate Mother of souls, into the far world,” – with the words of the hymn of the Knighthood of the Immaculate, Father Karl Stehlin concluded his inspiring lecture.
