How to serve the Immaculate

Blessed be Immaculate!

Dear Knights,
MadonnadelCarmeloSaluzzoCN 2107285723 (Copy)“I do not now theoretically and — what is more — practically, how I should serve the Immaculate” — Saint Maximilian once confided, looking for a way to become Her tool, servant, child, slave, property and… Herself at the same time. He quickly came to conclusion that all by ourselves we cannot do anything apart from thwarting God’s plans. This is why She “must teach, lead, transform into Her each of us every time in order to live in us, as Jesus lives in Her and the Father in the Son”. However, to get to know someone so well to speak about unity, it is necessary to spend a lot of time together, to look and consider what and how the person does, it is necessary to follow his/her example, to love and to forestall one’s desires — all that mean to live with the same ideal “doing well what depends on us and courageously bearing what does not” — this is the mystery of happiness which was giving strength to Saint Maximilian. His life became prayer because he knew well that he is ‘the one who is not’ so he confidently demanded everything from “The One Who Is”. This is why he ordered the knights not to think about some particles of love and happiness but to desire everything and to outdo each other in aspiring to greater glory of God through Immaculate, even though “we would never be able to love Her so much as She loves us”. Maximilian was aware of it and it gave him confidence in the times of the worst torment which he waited out at Immaculate’ feet. Just the same as we wait for the end of the storm which always goes by, leaving a clean atmosphere behind. Saint Therese from Jesus teaches us: “do not worry and terrify because everything eases off but God is unchanging. Patience would help you to reach everything; the one who acquires God is not lacking for anything. God alone is enough”. But we have to look for Him amongst silence and concentration of our heart, which through the devotion to Mother of God will be able to resist all the external fuss. Overall, as Saint Maximilian repeated, Immaculate always guides everything all by Herself, it is just about not to neglect what She demands from us. We often ask about our future, for example what is going to happen from a year from now. Everything is in the hands of Immaculate, so we should let Her lead us, because She perfectly knows the way, where Saint Maximilian would tell all of us “Always remember, that you are the absolute, boundless and irreversible property of Her. Whoever you are, whatever you have or whatever you can, all the pleasant, blank or unpleasant thoughts, words or acts are Her integral property. So let Her do with them whatever She wants. Also all your intentions are Hers; let Her change, add or take away because She cannot disturb justice”. Hence the logical conclusion, that “who does not want to have Immaculate as a mother, would not have Christ as a brother, neither Heavenly Father would send His Son to him nor the Son would descend to his soul and the Holy Spirit would not mould him with graces (…) because all this happens in Mary Immaculate, full of Grace”. This is why our Saint often asked “what do you want, Immaculate?”. We come across may situations, when we need a good advice. There are always many advisers, but there is a one Mother of good Counsel — this is why, as Saints remind us, the fruits of our actions depend on obeying Her as She is obedient to God, agreeing with everything in Her heart even before she expressed it. She was ready before a trial has come. We have betrayed fidelity with our sins but She regained it for us, becoming a power of our weakness, our immaculately. This is why going with Her is to getting back to God, but going without Her means to lose Him forever…
