Building of the church in Sri Lanka
On 12 December, the Catholic Church celebrates Our Lady of Guadalupe. Indeed, from 9 to 12 December 1531, the Mother of God appeared to Mexican native Juan Diego and left on his tilmac (apron) her image which up to now has been acknowledged as scientifically unexplainable.
In Negombo (Sri Lanka), the Society of St. Pius X (SSPX) will celebrate its parish feast day in its almost completed new church building dedicated to Our Lady of Guadalupe.
A Gregorian Sung Mass will be officiated by Reverend Father Fabrice Loschi, former pastor who initiated the project.
Afterwards, refreshments will accompany the explanation of the construction status which will comprise a unique Portuguese Azulejos tiles facade representing the apparition of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
Donations are welcome since we are still short of about SGD 60,000 to finish off the church which we hope to have blessed in March 2017.

Pilgrimage in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe
The 8th annual pilgrimage in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe took a place on Saturday (December 10), before Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The faithful of the Church of Our Lady of Victories were pilgrimaging through the streets of Manila visiting several churches.
This year was the new concept of our pilgrimage we went to Our Lady of Victories in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Our parish was the ultimate goal, which everyone had to go through.
We gathered in Luneta Park, the symbol of the Republic of the Philippines, about 5 in the morning. We started with a solemn mass in the High 5.30am. After we walked to San Agustin Church, Cathedral in Manila, San Sebastian Church, San Beda Church, St. Anthony of Padua, Santo Niño Chapel, Our Lady of Mount Carmel and the Cathedral of Our Lady of Victory Church.
In San Beda Church, Father Stehlin gave a short conference about St. Maximilian and Our Lady. In this church St. Maximilian celebrated Mass on May 30, 1936, during his journey from Japan to Poland.
The pilgrims prayed the rosary for all our different intentions during this pilgrimage, and at the same time, wore our banners and the distribution of 1000 leaflets to the Mother of God known and loved. It was also a good opportunity to known and bring as many people back to the Catholic Tradition.
We wanted to make more people know about the traditional Latin Mass and Mother of the Church Parish! It is a preparation for the most important event in Fatima 100 on 13 May 2017. We need this preparation, because Fatima 100 must be celebrated in Manila with the greatest honor to Our Lady of Fatima.
