The Miraculous Medal is a in the Catholic church recognized as sacramental, which is an exterior symbol with an interior effect. Sacramentals are not effective on their own, but by the means of the intercession of the Church and the religious use of the faithful. From there the Miraculous Medal is blessed by a priest before using; God’s blessing is called down on it.
The Medal is a symbol of love from our heavenly Mother for her children. If we wear the Medal as a symbol to show that we are Mary’s children, and with confidence that she provides us her protection and blessing through this Medal, the Medal will become a symbol of our love for Mary.
