Polish government celebrated the 100th anniversary of the apparitions in Fatima with a special resolution!
On the 7th of April, 2017 Polish government approved a special resolution to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the apparitions in Fatima. 245 deputies voted for the legislation, 23 were against. The deputies from the liberal Civic Platform (in Polish Platforma Obywatelska, PO) party had left the parliament in fury and did not take part in the voting. Here is the text of the Fatima resolution:
The year 2017 marks the 100th anniversary of the apparitions in Fatima. Our Lady foretold the most important events in the XX century and her message is still valid.
In a dramatic way, through the third secret and a spectacular miracle of the sun, the Mother of God has reminded us the evangelical truth that in order to achieve happiness, people need only the Almighty God, who created us for Himself and who wants to share with us the fullness of happiness.
Not many religious events have been so important for the history of the church and the whole world like the apparitions in Fatima. Having in mind the current geopolitical situation in Poland, the message of Fatima has an exceptional meaning for our country.
Owing the fact that the message of Fatima is important and profound, the parliament of the Republic of Poland is convinced of the special meaning of this message and want to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the apparitions in Fatima.
By approving this resolution, Poland publicly honors Our Lady of Fatima. Having in mind the political situation in the world, the behavior of Polish government is exceptional! On the 15th of December, 2016 the parliament in Poland approved another special resolution, i.e. to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the coronation of the portrait of Our Lady of Częstochowa. The event will take place on the 8th September, 2017. Poland is publicly celebrating the year 2017 as the year of coronation of Our Lady as the Queen of Poland.
