Dear Knights of the Immaculata,
The holidays are coming, I thought to share with you a beautiful letter that I received from a girl from a distant country:
I remember very well the awful holidays last year: I spent my holidays behind the screen. I thought that if I had at my disposal the smartphone and the computer of the house, I was not going to deprive myself! With my neighbours, we spent the summer playing and then we went for a walk-in town to shop. The only thing that wasn’t great was that my parents didn’t give me money so I couldn’t buy anything, unlike my friends; at first everything was fine and it seemed to me that I was the happiest person in the world… but long before the end of the holidays, I started to be disgusted because it was always the same games, the same movies my eyes hurt and my head was terribly empty. However, I did not forget the visit to Jacinthe, a classmate, towards the end of the holidays… She had told me about the MI which had made her discover a new way to never get bored… So I called her and when she answered I heard peals of laughter behind her… She must have been happy, at least she.
So I asked her if I could come see her so that she could tell me a little more about this MI. She was very happy about it and we made an appointment.
When we met, I thought she was going to give me a catechism lesson, but she simply said to me: “Put on your glasses and come on, let’s go for a walk!” ” Since I don’t wear glasses, I replied, “What are you talking about? I don’t understand! “Not the physical glasses but your child of Mary glasses!” »
And she took me by the hand said to me: “Look at everything, look at the world WITH THE EYES OF MARY” Then we walked through the streets, and she said to me: “Look at this guy, who has drunk too much! For the Blessed Virgin Mary, it is a soul, it is precious for Her since She suffered on Calvary for it; look at these young girls who look so idle, look at these mocking children who do not yet know Mary Immaculate, look at the flowers, the bees, look at everything as Mary sees them and look at everything with Her Heart!
And in the evening, when we came back tired from our long walk, I finally understood how the Virgin Mary could transform my life; so I gave Her my heart forever; Seeing all things as Mary sees them is the best thing that exists in the world, it occupied me the rest of my holidays because after having looked with Her eyes, I wanted to do like Her: I no longer saw poor guys on my way but souls; I saw Her needy and I started a beautiful embroidery with Her monogram; I no longer saw the mocking children, but the Mother’s gaze resting on them; I no longer listened to “barbarian” music but to the silence of the Heart of Mary and the joyful tunes of my country; I no longer found pleasure behind the screens because Marie’s eyes, those azure eyes had become my favorite screens and I could no longer detach myself from them.
Dear knights, this year, I promise you that I will put those Glasses on again! »
Good holidays !
Your MI Director
